Can’t Say No to Nolita! World’s First Perfume and Lipstick Duo by Bond No.9

Screen Shot 2017-05-11 at 8.51.27 PM

Hello hello! Check out the world’s first ever perfume and lipstick duo – the scent is unique with a dominant tangerine undertone. Most importantly it STAYS literally for days on your clothes – its nothing like what I’ve smelled before and trust me, I’m addicted to perfumes so nothing good has ever escaped my nose.

A perfume this outstanding will put a dent on your wallet though – the Bond no9 New York Nolita Perfume and Lipstick Duo will cost you around 350 USD.

In case you don’t know already, Bond NYC is a high end perfume making company that produces scents based on neighborhoods in New York. I think this is one of those things you should save up for and buy at least once!

Until next time,

The light and lovely Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet comes in a bottle embodying classic Dior Elegance :) I picked this one in lieu of the many other Miss Diors for a reason! Read on to find out :)

The light and lovely Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet comes in a bottle embodying classic Dior elegance 🙂 I picked this one in lieu of the many other Miss Diors for a reason! Read on to find out.

Hello ladies!

Hope you’re having a lovely week. I got back into my regular  exercise routine this week after an on/off  month because I was pretty sick and the recovery period took longer than expected! But I’m better than ever now so it was all worth it 🙂

I was about to put on my current perfume addiction (VIP Rose 212, click here for a review) before heading out for my run today but stopped myself – VIP Rose is limited edition (and expensive) so I want it to last as long as possible 😛 hehehe.  Also,  I’m one of those people who will use a perfume to death for a couple of weeks/months and end up not being able to smell it anymore unless insane amounts are applied.

From experience I know this ends up giving me – and any fellow human beings in the vicinity –  a killer headache! So, to prevent losing my olfactory appreciation of VIP Rose, what did I put on to smell good, but not overpower nature?

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet.

This is one of the few perfumes I picked and bought for myself way back in 2013 during a vacation (I usually drop hints for family members to avoid having to dish out on this type of beauty expense :P). I was very lucky to get a discount on it ( holiday sale! ) – I picked a 50 ml up for 55 USD –  the price is listed at 75 USD on Sephora. Wohoo for me 😛 But I am confused about something – I bought mine in the summer of 2013 whereas online it says it was launched in 2014. I am guessing it was either launched in 2014 in other parts of the world and/or the press release came after a very long time. Or perhaps the version that is being touted online is an updated edition of the one I own. I will investigate and update this post accordingly so do visit again for a clarification on this matter 🙂

Anyways, why did I pick blooming bouquet in lieu of the 100 other editions of Miss Dior they had lying around? It’s very different in terms of its softness to my regular scents (which are heavy, rich and long lasting). Its’ a fun, light scent that gives me a very nice, clean, breezy finish (like luxury washing powder). Its’ perfect for day-wear. It doesn’t have too much staying power but  I might just have grown immune to its’ already light smell. In our part of the world it is ideal for use in the winter – in the summer it gets too easily overpowered  by the Givenchies the other ladies wear  🙂

Regardless, the scent is lovely and outstanding in its unique way – if you don’t like fruity/floral tones stay away! Otherwise I strongly recommend it.

Oh and the bottle is a adorable – classic Dior luxury for your dressing table 🙂 So you must get one especially if you never got your hands on Miss Dior Cherie (like me) back in the day!

Have an awesome day lovelies! Don’t forget to Make up  (and scent up) well until next time  🙂

Love,

Spring Wonderland – Elie Saab Le Parfum Resort Collection (2015-limited edition) Review

A must have for this spring ladies, this one is all set to become a classic :) Wonderful flowery, musky scent with exceptionally strong staying power. Love it!

A must have for this spring ladies, this one is all set to become a classic 🙂 Wonderful flowery, musky scent with exceptionally strong staying power. Love it!

Hello Lovelies!

I’m sorry for the slight gap in posting, but I have had a veryyyy busy month (a lot of those seem to be happening lately -_-). The good news is it didn’t stop me from getting my hands on a lot of the latest beauty must-haves. My fav out of the lot, because it is so springy, is Elie Saab’s Le Parfum from the Resort Collection 🙂

Even though I have OD’ed on perfumes and am good for another 2 years with the stock I have, I had to buy this when it was sprayed my way at the beauty counter of a duty free. Yeap, this is that good!

So why am I gaga over this? Having just been released at the end of Feb this year, it is one of Elie Saab’s very first limited edition products – as you may have guessed already, I am sucker for limited edition perfumes – I like my fragrances to stand out of the crowd, and what better way than through one that will be out of production in the future 😛

This one has a very outstanding luxurious flowery, musky scent – its definitely  one of those perfumes which will become a classic (like Chanel Number 5). It is very strong in terms of its staying power and presence, but is not overpowering – on the contrary it is pleasantly soft so if you are one of those people who get headaches with the heavy types but want a dominant scent, this is it for you!

It holds its’ fort all day long. If you spray it on clothes/scarves it leaves its trademark smell until you wash it out, which I love because the closet ends up smelling nice 😛 So 100 points for value for money on this at 80 USD. I got it on a special offer so it came with a free blue cosmetic bag in the same shade as the bottle (me loves!). At the duty free you can even pick up the 100 ml bottle for around a 100 USD (100 ml) –  otherwise it is listed for a 130 USD! So hurry up and ask a friend/relative who will be transiting though the major duty frees to pick this up for you 🙂
The only thing I’m not such a big fan of is the bottle – it comes across as a mix of Davidoff cool water, Versace bright crystal and my father’s aftershave bottles. But the scent and staying power make up for it so don’t let that turn you off. Also, it’ll add a little blue to your dressing table. Who could say no to that 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this post lovelies! Until next time, make-up well 🙂
Love,
WBVANITY

Happy November Ladies!

Hope you had a spectacular halloween 🙂 I’ve been meaning to blog about my latest gift and am so glad I’m finally getting the time to do this – and the fact that I’m doing it on a Monday makes it even better 🙂

I was very very lucky to get Carolina Herrera’s 212 VIP Rosé as a belated birthday present last month. When I saw the box I was initially put off because I am really not a fan of rose scents. Thankfully, there is absolutely nothing rosy about this – it has a very strong, rich but sweet scent – think of a very exotic mixture of woody and fruity tones.

Basically, if you put this on, you will smell exactly like a very wealthy woman does 😛 only you’ll have spent less than a quarter of what rich women may spend mixing up multiple custom-made scents 😉 The bottle is nice, not mind-blowing or eye-catching, but the scent makes up for it all the way so don’t let aesthetics turn you off! Its’ left my Givenchies, Chanels and Diors (reviews on all coming up soon!) collecting dust on my dressing table because I am so addicted to this. I don’t feel special unless I put this on anymore 😦 hehehe.

Verdict – get it! and get it now, because like Marc Jacob’s Daisy Delight  (click on the link to read my review) – this is limited edition too.

I own it in a 50 ml bottle and was rude enough to ask the relative who got it for me how much she paid – it was 60 USD (duty-free). I hope you get an equally good price for this!

Have a spectacular week beauties 🙂 Until next time, make (and scent) up well!

Perfume Cheer up – the Verdict on Marc Jacobs’ Daisy Delight (Limited Edition)

If the cutesy bottle doesn't win your heart, get it for its' promise of a unique, long-lasting impression on everyone who smells it :)

If the cutesy bottle doesn’t win your heart, get it for its’ promise of a unique, long-lasting impression on everyone who smells it on you 🙂

What perfume keeps your blues away? This summer for me it was Daisy Delight by Marc Jacobs 🙂 Even though I opt for strong perfumes because lets face it, in south asia the regular stuff doesn’t serve its’ purpose 😛 the cutesy bottle won my heart at first sight!

Hehehehe on a more serious note, I didn’t like the original Daisy but this one is fresh, summery, girly and fun in comparison to its’ mommy even though its’ pretty light! Also its’ a limited edition scent, so you will stand out even in a crowd of the run of the mill Givenchies, Armanis and Chanels 😉

It isn’t overpowering but is strong enough to hold its’ ground even in the humidity (euphemism for sweatiness) for at least 8 hours – its a bit flowery (in case the bottle didn’t make that clear 😛 hehehe) so steer clear if you’re not into florals! Otherwise introduce some variety (and cuteness) into your perfume collection and go for this! and go for it fast because its limited edition 😉

The listed price is 81 USD. This isn’t available at home yet girls, so you’ll have to put in a request with your homies/families abroad 🙂

That’s it for this weekend ladies! Scent up and Makeup well until next time 🙂

xx,
